INVITATION FOR PUBLIC AND STAKEHOLDER COMMENTS: SALENE CHROME ZIMBABWE
EXPLORATION PROJECT

Salene Chrome Zimbabwe (Pvt) Ltd, a company duly incorporated in terms of the laws of Zimbabwe, has been awarded three (3) chrome mining special grants under the Mines and Minerals Act (Chapter 21:05). These special grants, which are contiguous, are located on the eastern side of the Great Dyke in Chegutu District, Mashonaland West Province. They cover a total of about 11 913 hectares, stretching from the area around Rutara Hills through Musinami and Danda Villages and passing through Chirundazi Shopping Centre and Chengoma Mountains up to the area around Kilvington and Beersheba Farms. Salene Chrome Zimbabwe therefore intends to undertake chrome exploration on their three special grants. The exploration program will determine the extent of the mineralisation and resource quantification of the chrome content.

In line with Best Practice and also in compliance with the Environmental Management Act (Chapter 20:27), read together with SI 7 Environmental Management (Environmental Impact Assessment and Ecosystems Protection) regulations of 2007, this project requires an Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA) to be undertaken. This EIA will systematically examine the possible environmental and social consequences of the implementation of this project with a view to finding measures of eliminating or minimizing the negative environmental impacts and enhancing potential benefits. Salene Chrome Zimbabwe has therefore commissioned Ateg Resources (Pvt) Ltd to undertake an Environmental and Social Impact Assessment (ESIA) of the proposed chrome exploration project and is now in the process of conducting public and stakeholder consultation. We are therefore inviting all the interested and affected parties to put forward their comments, views and concerns with regard to the above-mentioned project.
